SBMNH Camp Day 1

Ellie is up in SB going to camp at the SB MNH. It's always a highlight to her summer. This week the theme is Science Fiction, and apparently they are making holograms.

But also apparently my parents put her to work cleaning the car...

Look! A real newspaper!!

And she has gotten into friendship bracelets.

Galileo Camp Day 10

Last day of summer camp for E this summer; she heads up to SB for two weeks of camp up there.

Fortunately it was costume/super hero day for the kids. She went as Wonder Woman and he went as Thor (minus the hammer).

One of the activities at camp was to make props for a circus act movie and then film said movie. The kids had to work it groups to accomplish it. Ellie's team had a tight rope walker and a swimming panda and something about fire.

Galileo Camp Day 9

Calvin got sent home with a fever at the end of school yesterday...so he couldn't go to school today. Despite having a fever on and off last night he woke up without a fever. But still he couldn't go to school so Nick stayed home with him.

They rode the train and played on the playground. They went to lunch and Calvin got to see Galileo Camp when they picked up Ellie.

Speaking of Ellie...she was a cheetah today!

Galileo Camp Day 6

Week 2 of Galileo Camp. New theme, new kids, but same Counselor. The theme is Amusement Park which apparently includes lots of face painting, building a ferries wheel, developing carnival acts, and other funs stuff.

Yesterday I took the kids to a birthday party for a friend from Cal's school (the friends older brother went to Meher with Ellie). Elsa was there and the mom out-did herself with the home-made cake.

(Yes, the kids FINALLY got haircuts, Calvin said he misses his floppy hair)

Galileo Camp Day 5

So apparently pieing the dude in the face went well.

And Calvin did get face paint today.

This morning he was so excited this morning about Mr Jehue coming back and face paint he insisted on writing him a note.

Ellie wore her Camp shirt to camp today.

And my new office is ready for me.

Today was a long day for all...let's see some sleeping kids

Galileo Camp Day 3

Ellie found the rubber chicken!!!

This camp hides a small (2" tall) rubber chicken somewhere and if a kid finds it they get to "pie" a Counselor of their choosing (throw a pie at the face of selected adult). Well she found it and she is picking the counselor that protests too much about getting shaving cream up their nose.

Calvin requested toast and carrots for breakfast.

Galileo Camp Day 2

Each day of camp the team leader/counselor/teacher sends home a not about your child. Basically they say that your kids is awesome and doing great things. But it's always nice to hear the affirmations.

Unfortunately E got some hot glue gun burns today at camp. She touched the tip of the gun. Small, mild burn and they dealt with it appropriately and gave us a call.

Today Calvin's teacher husband, a second grade teacher during the year, (also our neighbor and friend which is how Calvin knows him) came to school and made slime with the kids. Apparently Calvin turned on the charm and asked him to come back to do face painting (memory from him doing face painting for Ellie and others at Halloween perhaps). Leave it to Calvin...

Galileo Camp Day 1

This week is Galileo camp. The theme is Medieval. She's designing stained glass windows and building a catapult.

On Saturday we picnicked at the Huntington with live music. Although Calvin was exhausted after climbing and jumping off stuff and eating ice cream. Ellie ran into friends and "explored" the Huntington with them pretending to be wizards or something.

Acting Camp Day 14

We apparently have become the family that wears old camp shirts on a normal day. Calvin wore Ellie's old Zoo camp shirt (from 2013) and Ellie wore her piano Camp shirt.

Today was tech rehearsal day at acting camp for Ellie. She said it was boring and long. Welcome to the theater kid.

Acting Camp Day 12

Today was final auditions for featured parts of the final performance and to make sure you knew your scene. Ellie was a nervous wreck this morning.

But that didn't stop her from photo bombing her brother.

She also took on the role of Cinderella at home. After dinner she washed and cleaned the dining room because she wanted it to be sparkling for when Grandma and Grandpa get here tomorrow.
