Predictable

From Feb 25 2016.

My kids are predictable.

Ellie's friend (and a mom friend) has an American Girl doll, but has grown out of dolls and isn't into them. But friends grandma made her and her doll matching dresses. When she learned E had an AG doll, she offered the dresses to Ellie (so sweet!). Of course E was over the moon. Today was free dress day for school...I knew exactly what she wanted to wear! And yes, she showed her friend and her friends mom who was so, so happy to actually the dress get worn.




Calvin and his balls. All he wants is to play ball. He spent a good 20 minutes playing catch with himself and his dad. Then Ellie joined him and he was the happiest kid ever.

Morning troubles

Calvin has been waking up early throwing off our normal schedule. Meaning he typically joins me in the bathroom. Ugh. Life just got difficult.

Bed head

Since his haircut, Calvin has been sporting some pretty awesome bed head.






Yes, his shirt is stained and he is out in public. He gets so messy at school that I never send him in clothes that I would be sad if they were ruined. Hence, he goes to school in clothes already ruined! Genius.

Morning scales

Ellie has Certificate of Merit coming up in a couple weeks. One thing she has been struggling with is where to draw the sharps or flats for G major and F major. Hence, the morning theory practice...

Haircut

Little dude got a haircut over the weekend. Despite some initial tears he settled in and was pretty chill.















He looks so much older now!

Happy 7th Birthday Ellie!

Today, after PopTarts for breakfast, Ellie took me to school so that I can read to her class. It was so much fun seeing the start of her academic day in her classroom as well as all her friends.










There was also some awesome FaceTiming with Aunt Susu.




Dinner was fun...until they tried to sing to her.



And then there was presents...which she was really really excited about.

Valentine's week

Ellie has been diligently working on Valentine's for her class. Inspired by a Fancy Nancy book she read, she custom made Valentines for all her classmates. Each one has a note stating what she likes about each person. She has done this all on her own, no help at all from us.

Changes

The weekend brought some changes and milestones for us.

Ellie got a new car seat.



Calvin tried his scooter (well Es hand me down).



Calvin started calling Nick by his first name.

Ellie learned some dance moves from Beyoncé (some we told her not to try at school with friends). Calvin was mesmerized by Bey.



Ellie learned about the insides of the piano.



Calvin learned that friends exist outside of school when we ran into a school friend at the park.


Ellie's good friends turned 7. This is the 4th birthday she has celebrated with the twins as they have known each other since they were 3. Lots of sugar was had by her.

Blacktop hugs

Calvin and I walked Ellie into school today. Ellie took a few minutes to torture Calvin with love and hugs.
