Both of them had a great time and worked really hard to accomplish new skills and obstacles. Ellie worked on landing on the flywheel and despite a huge effort, Calvin never made it up the warped wall...but he did get across the rings and the parkour course.
A daily dose of Ellie, Calvin, or both!

Holiday Break Ninja Gym
The Ninja gym had open gym hours today, the first day of holiday break. Given that it was raining all day, it made sense to take the kids to the gym to get some physical activity. It was Cals first time on the equipment now that he is five.

Panto!
Tonight we went to the Panto with Ellie’s friend and her dad. Calvin loved every moment and was “that kid” yelling at the stage. The show was Snow White and besides some teenage TV stars from the Disney Channel, the actors included some Broadway talent and The Evil Queen was played by Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child. It was a blast and we all had fun.

End of season
Ellie’s soccer team held a celebration party on Monday instead of practice. They had a great season of accomplishments, growth, and really bonding as friends and teammates. They all had a blast this season.

Craft party
On sunday Ellie and friends met up for a crafting party. They made ornaments and talked about what middle school was going to be like and everything in between. Then she came home and helped the little brothers with a gingerbread house.

I went to see one of my favorite podcasts do a live show with a friend. It was amazing and everything I wanted it to be.
Tree is up!
It went up a week ago. Emmett’s has actually been pretty good around the tree. He seems to enjoy playing with the tree skirt, but, for now, is leaving the ornaments alone.
Calvin also got a lesson in playing dreidel from a friend from preschool.

Santa 2019
Visited Santa tonight.

Calvin used his charm to expand in his written holiday list. Ellie told him she just wanted her friends and family to be happy and have a happy Christmas. He was impressed with them. Fortunately he was able to spend a good 10 minutes with them chatting about school, sports, how they listen to their parents...
Both were happy.
And surprise, Calvin decided he wants walker talkies from the big elf. Santa told Ellie that hover boards can explode (just like we have been telling her...) and now she thinks there is a conspiracy afoot.

Ellie’s School Show
Ellie’s school does things little differently. Kinder through third do a holiday show for parents, that was last week. And grades 4 and 5 put in an honor chorus, instrumental music, and dance team show. That was today. Ellie played in the band, and advanced band, as well as participated in the dance show. Her dance was to the song, Sunflower. It was obvious there was quite a bit of time spent in rehearsals. She did great and enjoyed performing...three times (twice during the day to the school and once this evening for parents). You can pick out E from her blonde hair, blue sneakers, good posture, and stage smile perfection,

Calvin’s Holiday Concert
All dressed up in his suit jacket and “wedding shirt” and tie, Calvin was ready for his first Webster holiday concert. He was very nervous and insisted on practicing daily before the concert. He did well, although not as animated as some of his classmates. No crying. No missed cues. And he looked great!

Holiday Party
It was the WJE Holiday Party tonight.

Nick and I tied in second place in trivia and came home with Bose, noise cancelling Bluetooth headphones...which after all my airplane rides this fell I am really really excited about!

Mr As game
Calvin’s favorite after school program instructor, Mr A, bring s a game most days that is like billiards and snooker but has geographical masses and complex rules. He had the game last year when e was there but she never played the game, although the boys did.

This year, Calvin has taken to the game and appears to be pretty competitive as I watched him do a couple trick shots. The kids all understand the rules, although after watching them play for 10 minutes I didn’t understand it at all.
