Brewer

Calvin had his first game on his coach-pitch team, the Brewers. Apparently he had a couple hits, made it on base, and played catcher. I missed the game as I headed to Es soccer tournament so I’m excited to see him play this week with my new Brew Crew T-shirt which Nick isn’t happy I own.

Guesting

This past weekend Ellie was asked to guest for the 2008 girls soccer team along with a couple of other teammates. If an older team is missing a player due to illness or whatever, they will ask girls from the next age group down, who they think would fit in with the team. Of course playing up means older kids, a bigger field, and a bigger goal...

But it also meant that she and Jillian got to play with teammates from their AYSO all-star team. And Ellie had the opportunity to be warmed up and practice with, as well as coached on the sideline by her two previous AYSO all-star coaches. I think they all enjoyed the opportunity to “get the band back together”.

Calvin really wanted to do the big kid monkey bars at the playground, but he can’t reach them. He asked me to pick him up so he could get to them...instead I told him to climb the support pole. 

And he made it. And then started climbing up all the poles to get anywhere he wanted to. 

I’m such a good coach.

Because her birthday fell on a Wednesday she didn’t get a fancy birthday dinner. So tonight we went to her restaurant of choice, Shogun!

Calvin had to make a poster on a president for his homework this week. 

He chose a president guaranteed to to be picked by a fellow classmate...

Happy Birthday Ellie!

It was a Wednesday. She had a science test. And soccer practice.

But there was pop tarts for breakfast. Cupcakes at school. Cupcakes at soccer. Cake after practice (although Ellie claimed she had had too much sugar). 

And then she was 11.

Birthday party week

I have taught my oldest child well and she has embraced her birthday week and made sure to drag us all with her. 

On Saturday she played a soccer game with the FCGS 2008 team. Jillian also guested with the team. Then we picked up Ishbel and we took the three girls (plus Calvin) to Johns Incredible Pizza. They spent the evening eating and playing video games and going on rides. 

Valentines Day Lunch

Today Nick joined Calvin at school for the Valentines Day Sweethearts Lunch. He brought restaurant food and dined with Calvin and his bestie, Cruz. The two of them are almost inseparable.
