Sports Camp Day 5

Ellie has a second week of sports camp next week and will be with her main counselor, Counselor Snot, again. But her favorite favorite Counselor will be with another group. So she HAD to have a picture with her today.

Also, here is a really, really bad picture of Cal. He was so cute as he has super shaggy hair right now and he was sweaty and his hair was all wonky. Also, his face was covered in dirt. But the picture doesn't do dirty, shaggy, funny Cal justice.

Sports Camp Day 4

She ran away form me and didn't want me to walk her in. She also jokingly referred to her counselor as Counselor Snot (his name is Scott). Apparently she won some track and field race (beating the boys!). They played capture the flag. And she got to dive off of a starting block.

This camp is officially a hit.

Camp sent a photo from a couple days ago of her running during track.

Tomorrow she has archery and track which she is excited about. I snapped a photo of her schedule; she is in the Knights.

And then she turned right around and went to piano. She started her lesson practicing her duet with her friend.

Sports Camp Day 3

Wrestling...apparently that was on the agenda for today. She was a little nervous because she had NO idea what it was. Although I didn't have a chance to talk to her this evening I hope it went okay.

She seems to really like the swimming and water polo and asked for today's photo in front of the pool.

Interestingly on the Instagram feed of the program they had kids diving and playing water polo...but I don't see her in the photo (albeit if she is in there I don't know if I would recognize her. She does have a orange and pink bathing suit).

For those curious, apparently they have two "real" lifeguards (adults) who stay out of the pool and multiple junior lifeguards as well.

Sports Camp Day 2

Today appeared to be another success at Sports Camp. She talked about more soccer, tennis (which she said she didn't get the hang of), swimming, and yoga. She showed off a few poses for us too.

Sports Camp Day 1

This is the first week of Sports Camp for Ellie. It's Spartan AllStar Sports Camp at La Canada High (same place as theater arts camp btw).

There are some familiar faces for E including a friend from her grade and siblings in different grades that she hangs out with in the after school program.

The day started off with locker assignments. She got an introduction to the girls locker room and lockers...that was new and pretty gosh darn cool (a high school locker to boot!).

Her day was jam packed. According to her they did (in this order): flag football, soccer, snack, badminton, hip hop, lunch, water polo, indoor hockey, ping pong, then track and field.

Surprisingly, she wasn't totally exhausted.

Speaking of exhausted. It may have been just me this weekend (Nick was in Chicago) but I was able to wear them out with pool parties and riding scooters to Starbucks.

First day of summer

And we started with special breakfast.

Then she had a play date while I got a couple hours of work in. And then we spent the afternoon doing errands, math facts practice, interviewing/auditioning new piano teachers, and hanging out before getting Calvin from school.

Last Day of Second Grade

Today was her last day of second grade. There were tears and hugs but also lots of smiles. She is apprehensive about all the changes but also slightly excited for the summer and what the nest year holds. She is also hopeful that she will see her teacher around the neighborhood as she is our neighbor (we have run into her out and about). So long second grade! On to 3rd!!
