Sports Camp Day 9

Today was also Calvin's last day of his first year at preschool (he does start summer school with the same teachers on Monday). He was excited and the kids out on an adorable program. Ms McCray is also celebrating her 30th year at Meher so there was a big celebration for her.

Ellie also had her last formal lesson with Ms Samantha today. We are going to miss her so much.

(Yes, her hair has some color in it. They had a "color war" at camp with color powder. Even after a shower rinse and swimming in the pool some color remained)

Sports Camp Day 8

So Calvin has woken up about 10 minutes before his clock is set to go green for the past couple days. Yesterday he cried and tantrumed...but stayed in bed until it went green. Today he yelled to tell me it wasn't green, I told him to wait a little bit...after a few minutes he again yelled...and again...and again...but he stayed in his room. Not we just have to work on being quiet.

I didn't get a picture of either kid today. So enjoy a video from Es hip hop/jazz class.

Tomorrow is Calvins last day of his school year. He starts summer school on Monday. So I promise there will be Calvin photos.

Sports Camp Day 6

We started the second week of Sports Camp. Ellie is in a new group without Counselor Snot. But there are a couple kids she met last week in her group.

Today was a long day for her. After camp she went to two dance classes. Two! O she had an twelve hour day of physical activity. Pfew.

Calvin and I have been working on him staying in his bed. So far it's going well. I got him a clock that turns green when it's okay to leave his bed (Ellie had the same thing but it didn't work with her). I set it to turn green at 5:45am. Yeah it's early, but it's not 4am early. And I figure if he wakes up and sees it green a few times he will understand. Well, today he slept until 6:30 in his room. At around 6:45 his sister went in to check on him. He was awake but still in his bed because the clock wasn't green. Apparently it doesn't stay green for an hour! But success!!

Sports Camp Day 5

Ellie has a second week of sports camp next week and will be with her main counselor, Counselor Snot, again. But her favorite favorite Counselor will be with another group. So she HAD to have a picture with her today.

Also, here is a really, really bad picture of Cal. He was so cute as he has super shaggy hair right now and he was sweaty and his hair was all wonky. Also, his face was covered in dirt. But the picture doesn't do dirty, shaggy, funny Cal justice.

Sports Camp Day 4

She ran away form me and didn't want me to walk her in. She also jokingly referred to her counselor as Counselor Snot (his name is Scott). Apparently she won some track and field race (beating the boys!). They played capture the flag. And she got to dive off of a starting block.

This camp is officially a hit.

Camp sent a photo from a couple days ago of her running during track.

Tomorrow she has archery and track which she is excited about. I snapped a photo of her schedule; she is in the Knights.

And then she turned right around and went to piano. She started her lesson practicing her duet with her friend.

Sports Camp Day 3

Wrestling...apparently that was on the agenda for today. She was a little nervous because she had NO idea what it was. Although I didn't have a chance to talk to her this evening I hope it went okay.

She seems to really like the swimming and water polo and asked for today's photo in front of the pool.

Interestingly on the Instagram feed of the program they had kids diving and playing water polo...but I don't see her in the photo (albeit if she is in there I don't know if I would recognize her. She does have a orange and pink bathing suit).

For those curious, apparently they have two "real" lifeguards (adults) who stay out of the pool and multiple junior lifeguards as well.
