Second week of Camp Grandparentals starts today

Today marks Ellies second week up in Santa Barbara staying with her grandparents. Yesterday we met them at the outlet mall in Camarillo, installed her carseat in their car, and just as she was about to get teary and upset, my dad pulls out the Frozen DVD. They have one of those fancy cars with a TV in it. So for the next hour, Ellie rode up to SB watching Frozen.

This week she is going to Natural History Camp. She enjoyed it so much last year she talked about it in the spring! Despite missing us (and Cal) I know she is really excited about camp. That was confirmed by my mom saying she was up and dressed and ready to go this morning, obviously looking forward to camp.

This weekend was pretty busy. Saturday morning we had a play date at a local park with other kindergarten families. It was a chance to meet other parents and kids. Although there wasn't a lot of introductions and playing with each other for the kids, they at least will recognize familiar faces for the first day in a couple weeks.

She also had ballet.

Cal had a rough night last night. He slept all the way up to Camarillo. Woke up for about 15 minutes. And then slept all the way back down to Pasadena. When we got home we got him out of his carseat, fed, bathed, and he promptly fell back asleep. So it's no surprise that he was up at 4am. My feeble attempts to get him to sleep were unsuccessful.

Nick noticed that Cal is now on the Piglets Class poster at daycare. They have photos of all the kids and teachers at the entrance hall. He looks a little angry in his photo...

Look how big he's gotten! We went on a walk with the stroller yesterday morning.

And I also got an adorable photo of the kids together before our walk.
