The troublemaker and the neat freak

Lately Ellie has become a bit of a neat freak. She insists on making her bed and nicely laying out her pajamas before we leave for school. And she has been lining up all of her shoes by her bed, foregoing the normal pile by the door. This is all fine. Except I think making your bed is a waste of time. I mean, you are going to mess it up when you get back in it and really people shouldn't be in your bedroom (privacy please) and so who cares what it looks like. But she likes to make it. I don't give it another week.

Today I got told that Calvin has been trying to climb up the slide in the play yard. Up. Something he learned from his father and sister this past weekend.

And I got told yesterday that when Calvin realized it was snack time, he pushed a chair from the little low tables over to the high table with the bucket seat (where the non-walkers typically eat, including Cal most of the time), climbed up on the chair and tried to reach the food on the high table. Fortunately his teacher is awesome and was amazed by his logic skills and thought process rather than seeing him as the troublemaker.

Also, there were some boards showing off the kids art at daycare today. Unclear why, maybe I missed a memo, but I found Cal's art and a picture of him making the picture. It just reminded me of how great having daycare is because they do all these activities that are so messy I would never do them at home. And how yummy does that paint look! (In the picture of the picture of Cal doing the art you can see one of the little chairs he used to reach the big table, also int he picture).
