Back to Meher

After we moved to Pasadena in 2012 Meher Montessori school became Ellie's new normal and they welcomed her with open arms and smiles. It was the one stable constant for a few months wile we were in transition. She thrived and we loved her time there.

Now it's Calvin's turn.

Today was his first day. He was definitely emotional about leaving Kids Klub and his beloved Ms Denise. He was also excited because Ellie talked about Meher so much. Last night he didn't sleep very well and woke up several times. Definitely new school jitters and excitement.

This morning he was so brave and so excited about his lunchbox. He recognized a few faces (a sibling of Ellie's classmate and his teacher). He was welcomed by teachers and children. When I left he was trying his hardest on the tricycle.

I called at noon and the report was great. He had gotten a little sad between activities but for the most part was engaged and seemed happy. And he ate all his lunch.

When I picked him up he was quietly playing with pretend cakes and working on his fine motor skills to put play candles on the cakes. He did NOT have a potty accident. He fell asleep easily at nap time. He was happy.

Although it's hard to get a full report about their day from a 2.5 year old, I understood that he ate his berries, did not go on the tire swing, he ate lunch with his friend Maelin, and played with dough.

Ms Wildhaber is having edamame for snack tomorrow in honor of Calvin.
