The day started with a baseball game at 8am. Calvin got to play “pitcher” and had a good play throwing the ball to first. He also had a hit. And his friend from school was on the other team; he was so happy to see his friend.
Then after the game, before Ellie’s first playoff game, the birthday kids decorated their cake. Calvin really likes sprinkles.
We all headed to Ellie’s soccer game. The birthday kids and I left at halftime to get ready for Calvin’s party. We had reserved a covered picnic spot at the park and had planned a sports party where we would bring our sports equipment and let the kids play with it. A piñata and some cupcakes and the birthday party would be awesome. But it rained...
At first the kids didn’t mind the drizzly rain and played soccer and baseball. But once the heavier rain came we rushed the piñata. We sang, we had cupcakes and cookies and then the party disbanded. Calvin was happy.
Cousin Jimmy, who also had a recent birthday, stopped by as well.
Then we headed out to dinner and had more cake and let Calvin open presents. The kid was done and didn’t actually eat any more cake. He was worn out...but had a good day.
Happy Birthday Calvin!!
Happy Birthday Grandma Pam!
