Math

I don't understand how the time is spent in the morning. I'm up at 6:00am. I have Cal fed/changed and I'm washed/makeup/hair done by 6:30. So that leaves 30 minutes for things here and there before Ellie has to be awake at 7:00am. E usually is up around 6:50am and so she spends a little time playing with Cal. I have to pump and that usually from 6:50 to 7:00. Cal's bottles are pre-made, Ellie is buying lunch so there isn't any prep with that, and all my other stuff (pumping things coffee) I've gotten ready the night before, so it takes minimal effort in the morning. Getting E dressed takes minimal effort from me and I can do other things. She needs me for brushing teeth and hair and sunscreen and for shoes. And this week I have fed Cal a tiny amount of solid food at 7:15. Looking at it in paper and doing the math for how the time adds up it doesn't seem too bad. Then how every morning is it a crazy race to walk out the door and pull out of the driveway no later than 7:35 (to allow E some time to play on the playground)? I don't get it. And I get math.

E didn't have any clean dresses so she had to wear a skirt and shirt which she was not happy about. This is the only skirt (of all the size 5 and XS skirts she has) that fit and only because it has adjustable elastic. All the others are WAY too big. And she complained about the collar on the shirt. When I pointed out it was the same as her dresses the complaining just got quietier.

Cal was his usual happy self. At school he grabbed a flashlight to play/chew on. I shouldn't be surprised, the kid has been fascinated by light and shadows since birth.
