Another medal for Ellie

This weekend was the playoffs for Ellie’s spring soccer league. They had a by on Saturday given their rank in the league. On Sunday they had an early game against the 15th ranked team in SoCal and the first place team in the league going into the playoffs. They had beat our girls the last time they played (our only loss this Spring). The girls didn’t think they would win. They just wanted to keep the score close.

Well, I think he first quarter Ellies team scored an amazing goal in which Ellie got an Assist. She punted the ball and their forward dribbled and made a goal, the first in the game. Ellie had some fantastic saves including some dives to the posts and catches. Some of the saves surprised the other team and the coach who start to yell at her girls to put more pressure on the goalie. Ellie’s team got two other goals and won’t he game 3-1. Her coach was really impressed with her game. Every girl had an amazing game, hence the big win.

We all had a picnic lunch (nobody was expecting to stay at the field all day and so we weren’t prepared) of store bought sandwiches and fruit. The girls bonded and had s blast together.

So they moved on to the Championship game in the afternoon. They were tired and drained from the morning game (which was really intense). They had a decent game but were not at their best and lost.

They came in second in the league! They girls were excited to have their medal and were pumped about the morning game.
