The kids came to work with me in the morning and hung out with Nick in the afternoon. But over the weekend there was a rather large to-do at Es school. Her school was selected by the Pasadena MLK Community Coalition as part of their “MLK Day On not Day Off”. Each year a local school is selected by the group for a beautification program. Over a hundred community members came out to Webster to help landscape the front of the school with a “living lab”. Included in the community members was our State Senator, representatives from the mayors office, the Rose Queen and her court, PUSD representatives, and other pillars of the community. The day started with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Ellie and another student from school. No problem for the 3rd grade Student of the Month!
Later in the day E had her first All-Star soccer game against South Pasadena. The team played well and the game was tied at 0-0. The girls found the groove by Sunday and beat Burbank 4-0.
Oh! And Calvin rode a unicorn.
