After the game we headed apple picking...we were in Kern County afterall. Apple picking in Bakersfield is not like apple picking in Massachusetts. But it was fun. We ended up with 10lbs of apples which are delicious (red and golden).

Bakersfield
On Saturday, the kids and I drove up to Bakersfield for a soccer game. It was our furthest game from home this season. Knowing it was going to be a long day, and I was solo parenting, I treated it as a road trip. There was barely any limits on junk food after the game on the ride home, we listened to a couple Ramona books on tape/mp3, and made some side trips.
